The goal for this nursery was to avoid gender specific decor. Although Mom and Dad knew the sex of their unborn baby, they were hopeful that future babies would also use this nursery.

The lightly stained crib and change table were the first items sourced and bought. These items are also multifunctional as the crib transitions into a double bed and the change table into a dresser. It was decided that large 13” horizontal stripes, in a similar colour would be the backdrop. A jungle nursery theme was selected and all other fabrics for the window treatment, pillows and accessories were chosen to coordinate with the colours of the jungle theme. The gender neutral nursery came to life with leaf patterned roman shades, coordinating bench cushion and pillows. Rafia was used to decorate a lamp cord and support a wall hanging. Stuffed giraffes and lions and hippos now watch over baby and books and blocks and toys wait to get baby’s attention.  All Photo Credits: Jessica Deeks Photography
